Today we will go over the CAMERA we will be using!

WHAT ARE WE LEARNING: About OUR Digital Cameras (Canon R50)

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT: Clearly understanding your camera's functions is essential for capturing high-quality images and maximizing your creative potential. We will explore some of the critical functions commonly found in the Canon R50 Mirrorless camera and how they can be used to enhance your photography.

HOW WILL MY TEACHER KNOW WHAT I LEARNED: You will follow along with instruction and use what we have learned to handle the camera properly!

Do NOT remove a lens. If a lens change is needed please ask!

What did it come with???

BODY (Light Tight Box)

Light and compact body
24 megapixels

Lens

Our lens is a 18-45 mm lens
Small and Compact
Limited range, but you can still take great photos!

Battery and Charger

Battery slides in charger
Charger plugs into wall
Full light will indicate when it is charged

Memory Cards

These will vary in size (GB)
Please do NOT force them in!

From the front, we can see the body and lens
Technically, the shutter button is visable too!

The BACK

VIEWFINDER
AE Lock Button: Locks exposure settings
Magnify: Magnifies image during playback mode
AF POINT: Auto Focus Point
Index: Displays multiple images during playback mode
Reduce: Reduces Magnification of image during playback mode
INFO Button: Tells the user info about what they are about to or have taken

Battery/Memory Card Door
Tripod Mount

BATTERY (removing and inserting)

Door for Battery/SD card located on bottom of camera...

Open Battery/SD card door...

Insert battery as shown...

Push until battery clicks in place. Gray lever is a slide lever that locks when the battery goes in. Do NOT force it!

Installing Battery

Door is located on the BOTTOM of the camera
Click the lever to open the door
Insert battery
Push (gently) until battery locks in place

Memory Card (SD Card)

Door for Battery/SD card located on bottom of camera...

Memory card goes in as shown...

Push (gently) to click into place

Close and lock battery/SD card door...Pull tab to left to Lock!

Installing Memory card (SD Card)

Door is located on the BOTTOM of the camera (with the battery)
R50 has ONE card slot
Click the lever to open the door
Insert the card in to slot with the label facing the front of the camera (lens side).
Push (gently) until Memory card clicks in place
Close and Lock door! (door does NOT auto lock!)
