Using G.O.A.T. Under Pressure
SCENARIO:
Your group has been assigned to photograph a student athlete outside after school. You planned to use natural sunlight and already decided on the location and poses. When you arrive, the weather has changed. It is cloudy and windy, the location you planned to use is unavailable, and you only have 20 minutes before the athlete has to leave.
In groups, walk through an example using G.O.A.T.
G – Gauge the challenge: What changed? What’s the actual constraint?
O – Open your mind: List 2–3 workable options; reframe what “success” looks like.
A – Ask questions / lean on others: Clarify expectations; identify who can help or what resource to use.
T – Tweak the plan or technique: Decide the next right step; adjust timeline, tools, or scope.
Adaptability doesn't mean abandoning the goal. It means changing the path when circumstances change!
